Aerial and scissor lifts play an important role in general construction, the telecommunications industry, and many other industries. Lifts come in several types, sizes, with various applications and operating hazards. The safe operation of lifts can increase productivity, and in many situations, it may be the safest option to access difficult working heights. However, the opposite can be said for the unsafe operation of lifts, for nearly 85% of aerial lift accidents occur during operation, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Only trained and authorized persons are allowed to operate a lift.

This course is designed to meet OSHA and ANSI training requirements and intended to provide the operator the knowledge to fully prepare and safely operate a lift with confidence.

Training will include:

• Explanations of electrical, fall, and falling object hazards;

• Procedures for dealing with hazards;

• Recognizing and avoiding unsafe conditions in the work setting;

• Instructions for correct operation of the lift (including maximum intended load and load capacity);

• Demonstrations of the skills and knowledge needed to operate an aerial lift before operating it on the job;

• When and how to perform inspections; and Manufacturer’s requirements.

Course Language: Spanish and English

Course Includes: Student materials, snacks, and refreshments. Operator Cards handed to the operator after successful completion of course and processing.
